Examiner strikes….again!

Driving examiner strikesWe have that awful feeling that we’ve been here before. Driving examiners are set to strike yet again on Friday 13th July.

The DSA (Driving Standards Agency) are unclear on estimates of  how widely spread any disruption might be, and are equally unenlightening about union (PCS) membership levels, but were quoted as saying:

We’re sorry for the inconvenience this will cause and will do everything we can to minimise disruption for our customers.

As ever, the advice remains the same as we have given out before. If you have had no contact prior to your test date, be sure to attend your test booking. If your test needs to be rearranged, this can be done for free. This is however dependent on your attending at the time you are given, unless instructed not to do so by the test centre in advance.

Also (something I was not aware of until today), you can claim incidental expenses that might be incurred as a result of your test being cancelled under what are essentially the rules we all wish were used when tests are cancelled due to poor weather!

For more information visit Direct Gov. The expense claims can be made if your test was cancelled in under 3 full working days.
