Having had a look at our pricing structure recently, we have decided to implement some changes to hopefully make the pricing a little simpler for our block bookings.
When we started Train2Drive, our primary ‘per hour’ price for driving lessons was to be £22. This meant that our advertised £190 for 10 hours for example represented a good deal, as did our other block booking rates.
In the event, we believe that the base rate of £22 per hour was a little high for the times, and as a result we tended, on an unofficial basis to go with £19 per hour, so the £190 block price tended to represent a convenience rather than a particularly great saving. We still believe we have been offering a good deal. One that was good for our students as they could afford to get their lessons in perhaps a little quicker, and one that was good for our instructors as we did not bankrupt them whilst they constantly fought other price increases such as fuel costs and insurance.
Over time, and taking into account the still poor economic climate, we have come to realise that a fair per hour price at the moment is indeed £19. We have decided that we will stay at this level for the time being.
What this means is that a need has arisen to examine our block booking prices. We have looked at the rates our competitors are offering, and we will still have our manager’s specials on the wall from time to time, and as for competitions, well, you know we’ll be keeping them going. However our block booking rates are changing, we think for the better, as of this week.
So, rather than having a staggered saving based on the £22 per hour rate, we have decided that the basic principle will be that 10 hours and up (when paid in blocks of 10, 20, 30 0r 40 hours) will constitute a block booking, and there will be a 5% discount on block bookings across the board. That’s 5% off the new lower standard rate of £19! See the image above for the full list (or our prices page) but we think they are fair.
